Angelita

Tim Burton’s world.

One of a kind dive.

Descend to 100ft (30m) to find a thick hydrogen sulfide cloud. The gas released in the decomposition of the organic matter gets trapped in the halocline, creating a 6 feet  (2m) cloud, so dense that it looks like the bottom of the cenote.

Coming out from the cloud you will see dry trees making you believe you are in a weird dream. Crossing the cloud is the highlight of this dive.

For a few seconds you will lose visibility and smell the sulfide (rotten eggs). After a few minutes underneath this layer is time to go back on top of the cloud and play there until our NDL allows.

Level: advanced, experienced divers.
